Artist Statement
Games Without Frontiers is a series of a dozen paintings and mixed media pieces that use popular board games as a platform to explore popular culture, social issues and art history. Newer works like SAMSON inhabit the same territory, while older works like JOKER explore these ideas in a more painterly mix of impressionism and surrealism.

I am a long time resident of Framingham, but I grew up in Connecticut and moved to Boston in the mid 70's to attend Boston College earning a BA in Communications. I've taken courses at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and Massachusetts College of Art and later earned a Master's Degree in Museum/Public Administration at Framingham State University. This involved internships and research projects for both the Danforth Museum of Art and Framingham History Center. More recently I was awarded the commission to paint the Heart Sculpture at Framingham Public Library's main branch. I've also had a long-standing interest in historic preservation and wrote regularly for New England Antiques Journal for over twenty years on this and other subjects.
