I’m a native of Richmond, Va. My first camera was purchased at 16, and began a lifetime of adventure in photography. I’ve worked professionally as a photographer, computer support technician, digital imaging consultant, fine art printer, color calibration consultant, among other ventures.
The Moving Still collection started in 2007 while exploring new techniques of motion and exposure with my camera. Over several years, this process produced a body of work I was inspired to share with the art community. All images were created live “in camera”, without digital manipulation or special effects, and edited in Adobe Lightroom to optimize color and tone.
I’m fascinated how some features appear to move in different directions, while other elements remain static. The process of creating these images, over an extended time period, was deeply gratifying as an artistic process. In my view, they reside somewhere between photographs and paintings, exhibiting characteristics of both mediums.
I’m honored to share these images with you at The Mill Contemporary Art.
